More book design attention!
Designer David Drummond deserves all the the credit and congratulations here. His cover design for The Crow's Vow has been selected by AIGA as one of the best of the year. This means the book will be in the Denver Art Museum and Columbia University's Rare Book and Manuscript Collection, as well as exhibited at the AIGA National Design Center in New York and elsewhere. Pretty cool!

The cover is also featured on Canadian Bookshelf's blog with a flock of other bird-bedecked books!

Vehicule blog
I'm not so good at reading blogs on a regular basis, though there are several I find quite worthwhile when I catch up with them. And now and then there's the surprise of a mention of my poetry. Just found a poem of mine on the Vehicule blog, thanks to my very own editor, Carmine Starnino. Check out the lovely Sunday poems and other poetic posts.

Knowlton Wordfest reading
Had a great time tonight at Knowlton Wordfest's spoken word event. I read a few poems to Stanley Lake's jazz trio accompaniment--which worked surprisingly well considering that my poems are not really jazzy. And the moon rose right behind me just as I was reading about the moon.

Another wonderful review!
Reviews are almost always a surprise, and I am very lucky that mine have been of the best sort. Thanks to Garry Thomas Morse for this one.

And a recorded interview
I thought this interview would be really embarrassing, but it's not so bad after all! It was done in a stairwell (you can hear people clomping by) after my Art Bar reading last fall.

Gerald Lampert Shortlist!
So pleased to be shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Award, which names the year's best first book by a Canadian poet. The shortlist of six came out this week; the winner will be announced June 11th. I feel very honoured. http://arts.nationalpost.com/2011/04/05/nominees-for-the-gerald-lampert-and-pat-lowther-awards-announced/
